The first thing you need to do is....just stay calm.
While it may, indeed, be a legitimate haunting, it may also be explained by a number of ordinary things you haven't considered, or aren't even aware of.
This doesn't mean you are crazy, or making things up. It just means you need to first rule out as many possible natural explanations as possible, and only then look to the possibility of your home being haunted.
If it IS haunted, don't let fear control you. If you are one of the few who finds themself with a negative entity taking up residence in your home, giving in to fear will only feed it. It literally feeds on your fear.
Try to document every event that takes place, note the time of day, who was present, lights on or off, what appliances were running, leave out no detail. If nothing else, you will be giving any investigative group you may call a big helping hand, in having such information handy. We need to know these things, know who saw what or heard what, the circumstances, everything possible to help us do our best in helping you.
And it may be that, by documenting things yourself, you might solve your own mystery, and realize what may be causing what seem to be paranormal events.
If you do get to the point of calling in investigators, make sure they will be honest with you and not tell you what they think you want to hear. Maybe on some level you WANT your home to be haunted...in the past, there was a stigma associated with having a haunted home, but it seems with the advent of television shows glamorizing it, now it's 'cool' to have a haunted home. But you need to be honest with yourself as well as with any team you call...be prepared for a good team to tell you that they can explain what you have experienced as not being of ghostly origin.
If the team is able to help you not only document but get rid of the ghost, if it is, indeed, a ghost, then make sure that YOU let go of it. Sometimes the clients bring things back on themselves because they haven't truly let go of the haunting, and open the door for things to sometimes get even worse.
If you have any questions, feel free to drop us an e-mail. While we may not be able to solve your problem, or to come to your home ourselves, we will do whatever we can to help guide you to a solution.
